Looking for a mommy diagnosis!
About 10 days ago while we were away I noticed one small part of Lukies eye was starting to get red. I thought it was from the indoor pools in Myrtle Beach. I didn't do anything but kept an eye on it. Well it started to get worse. Moving up his eye and then into both eyes. I took him to the ped on Monday who said there are no scratches on his eye, since it isn't oozing just to let it be and see what happens. Well Wednesday rolls around and it just keeps getting worse. I take him to the eye doc who says it looks like some sort of conjunctivitis and gives me drops and an ointment (yeah THAT is fun). Ive been wrestling the drops into his eye and just did the ointment tonight. Tonight at dinner he would rub his eyes like they itch but then also acts like there is something in there. It seems like he is sensitive to light as well because in the car he looks sleepy. Help. Anyone have any ideas cause I feel SO bad for him!
ETA: I am taking him back to the eye doc tomorrow cause something obviously isn't working!

Conjunctivits can make if feel like there is something in there. I believe it can also make them sensitive to light. He may need a different antibiotic.
I hope her feels better soon.

i had a pretty bad case of conjunctivitis last year.. take him to the opthalmologist.. he may have gotten a corneal abrasion.

I agree. Don't waste time with a ped - go to the guy that studied eyes.
DH had a tiny piece of steel in his eye - it was a nightmare. The eye kept oozing to try to get rid of it on its own.

I am a chronic pink eye sufferer and it does feel at times like you have something in your eye. It is hard because as an adult I know not to rub it because it can spread and get worse, but you can not tell a small child not to rub it

He could be suffering from a BAD case of seasonal allergies. Thats exactly how my sons started. Try an allergist.

Were there other symptoms of allergies other than the eyes?
