Bar Harbor, Maine is amazing
I agree about Newport, RI too
Phili is great as well, just be careful where you stay/visit

DH and I always go away for our anny at that time of year to cape cod... We stay in Hyannis and last time took a trip up to Provincetown... Love cape cod... I also suggest taking the ferry over to Martha's Vineyard. A lot of fun!
