Wait, you want to teach the child Italian or are you just looking for a teacher who's Italian?
Just joking...

There is an Italian language center in Smithtown on Main Street. I believe they do classes and even pre school.

I would ask Anna. She was going to start a school at one point.

Also Joseph & Maddie loved Muzzy. I had it in Italian but then returned it for Spanish after my mom went on & on about how much useful spanish is in the US.

PSA to all multilingual families....if you don't use it the kids will lose it. We used to speak Italian (dialect) in the house, but once my nonna died no one spoke it anymore. I was 5, and now I can understand a bit, but I cannot think in Italian or form thoughts to speak it back.

Re: Looking for an Italian Teacher for a Toddler...
I found a place in Suffolk in Commack but so far that is it. And it is geared to children under 5. Sounded great but way too far for us.
Does Muzzy really work? I would hate to spend all that money and it not work. TIA

I don't know, but they used to use it in my HS.
I think it's great that you are teaching him. I always tell DH it's a shame his father who speaks 3 languages only spoke English with him.
How is your Italian? Maybe speaking at home will be good for now, untill he is old enough to learn to read & write.

Re: Looking for an Italian Teacher for a Toddler...
I just saw this thread.
I am working on teaching ITalian to toddlers. The program is not underway yet. Locations and dates/times need to be confirmed, but it will be in the Smithtown area.(one or two locations to start).
It will be a 24 week program (may be two 12 weeks if necessary).
I will post as soon as things are confirmed.
Im also looking into possibly after school programs or weekends, to older kids/teens adults. (in the near future).
