Looking for family resort in Gulf Coast of Florida
I posted this on Travel but so far no responses. Anyone have any suggestions?
It is for my boss, his wife and their 2 girls ages 12 & 14. They are looking for something fun for the girls but relaxing for them. They went to Marco Island last year.

Re: Looking for family resort in Gulf Coast of Florida
We used to go to a place in St Petes Beach called the Tradewinds, we went there last year also...it is nice, its a resort type place on the main drag. What I liked about it was the fact that you could do your beach and pool stuff in the daytime, and in the evenings if you felt like shopping (I liked to shop because don't forget I was coming from the UK) you could head into Tampa in the evenings where there were 2 shopping malls. Also, if the weather was bad there was shopping and a cinema nearby. I don't know if I would go to Tradewinds again, but I like St Petes Beach, also up and down the coast there are lots of other towns, ie Treasure Island etc. Its not super fancy, but its nice and there a lot for kids to do.

Here is a link to Marco Island Marriot. It goes right to the Pakcages page. Looks like there are a couple Family ones!

The Marriott Marco Island was the original plan since my boss has lots of Marriott points. However he doesn't have enough to go the week they want to go.

OMG The Don CeSar looks fantastic! I love St Petes!! Nowadays we seem to head to Deerfield Beach as my grandma lives near there, but I do really like St Petes Beach!

You DO?!??!? My aunt and uncle live there they are constantly trying to get us to fly down there....
DH's family lives in St. Pete, its easy to get to b/c you can fly to Tampa. My parents loved the DonCesar when they went.
St. Augustine is fun. DH's family rents house in St. George Island every year for our family reunion, they are amazing!!
