Looking for New Doctor
Does anyone have any feedback on either of the following two doctors?
1) Kristen Cain (Reprod. Spec.) 2) Kathleen Droesch (LI Fert.)

Re: Looking for New Doctor
I used to see Dr. Cain, I like her very much. That being said, the problem with the larger offices is that you don't just see Dr. Cain..you see everyone. It didn't used to bother me, but they don't think "outside the box". Sometimes you need a little more help.
If he takes your insurance, or you can make it to his office, have a consult with Dr. Braverman. He is unlike any other doctor I have met. He is my 3rd RE.

Re: Looking for New Doctor
I conceived both my DC's w/ RSOFNY, with whom Dr.Cain is affiliated with...
She actually was the one with the "lucky trigger finger" as I calll it, who did my successful IUI...She is very knowledgable, knows her stuff but not wishy washy at all...However, I have seen all the Dr.'s at that practice, my personal favorite being Dr.Stelling for his personality

When you say you have seen "all" the doctors - how many doctors are there?

Re: Looking for New Doctor
I don't know which RS office you would go to...I went to Stonybrook and saw 4-5 different doctors, including Dr. Cain.
I like Dr. Cain, everyone there is very nice, don't get me wrong.
But I like the personal attention I get from Dr. Braverman. He does my sono's, he calls me back with bloodwork - even on Sundays. If I have questions I email him or Sandra (IVF Nurse) and they both have blackberries. Last night Sandra answered me at 10pm.
RS is big. They have sono tech's, I am not thrilled with one that is at Stonybrook, she rushes. And the doctor never sees what's going on inside of you in person. They jsut get the print out.

Re: Looking for New Doctor
I use Dr Cain and like the her and the office very much. The fact that they are a big office is good for me, because I do not have to work around the Dr's schedule, I work around mine!
I work 8-5, M-F and I run my own business as well, so my nights and weekends are usually full. I go in at 7am, get my bloodwork and sono, instructions and I am out! But when I do have a question I do feel that they take the time to answer all of my concerns.

Re: Looking for New Doctor
I see Dr. Droesch at LI IVF. Dh and I really like her.
To be honest, we only saw her for the consult and the sonos when we got our BFP.
I saw the nurses and nurse practicioners more often for bloodwork and sonos.
Good luck!

I agree with you. I got to RSNY and I like the fact that they are so flexible. They start at 6am some days.
BTW in Stonybrook they have one sono tech now and it's a male. He is great. I don't know of a woman there. If so I have never seen her. All my sonos even by my OB were never done by the doctors always by techs. That was never an issue for me.
Good luck

I have gotten the guy every time too, but once there was a woman. But she was nice.

I was a pt. at the Stony Brook office...
So at the time (last year), there was SanRoman, Stelling, Dr.Cain and 2 NP's
Occasionally, one of the Dr.'s that are based out of Mineola would fill in..And I believe there is a new Dr. at the Stony Brook practice now as well...All IVF's are done at Mineola ( Dr.Sung and Dr.Saketos did my IVF's, 1st was a chem pg., and then on #2 I got my DD)
And Marcellas, the male sono tech is phenomenal , he has been there even before I conceived my DS in '05

Re: Looking for New Doctor
I go to RSofNY & really like everyone there. My consult was w/Dr. Steling and I saw him a few times thereafter but I have also seen Dr. Cain and another male Dr. Every time I go there is a woman who does my sono & I think shes nice.

Re: Looking for New Doctor
Dr. Cain is my RE and I have been very happy with her. I also have seen all the RE's in the practice at one time or another and have been very pleased with them. It's definately a big practice so there isn't as much one-on-one, but I always felt like I was well taken care of.
