Looking for non-restaurant job in culinary field
A friend of mine is out of work and looking for a job in the culinary field. They do not want to work in a restaurant.

I would suggest looking at cluinary schools, companies that supply restaurants(wine wholesalers, knife companies, food distributors-Sysco and Us Foodservice are the biggest)

A family member's IL owns a whole group of restaurants in the city and DC, and he does high level mgmt stuff for them. He's not on the floor but he is more involved in their planning and design. I would imagine it would be tough to break into this. Clearly for him it was because of the connection.
