Looking for OBGYN and Perinatologyst
Hello ladies,
I am 10.5 weeks along with twins. Had my u/s with my regular GYN yesterday and learned that (1) he only delivers in South Nassau Hospital, even though his profile on my insurance site states he is with LIJ, and (2) that I need to see a perinatologyst in addition to OBGYN as my pregnancy is high risk because it is twins. I don't know much about South Nassau, and facing a real possibility of early contractions I would like to deliver in a very reputable hospital with good NICU, such as LIJ.
Could you please recommend a good OB from LIJ, ideally not too far from Bellmore / South Nassau (but I will be flexible for a good specialist) and a perinatologyst?
Thank you in advance

South Nassau is a very reputable hospital from the research i've done so far! Have you tried LI Womens Health Care? They are in Bellmore on Merrick Rd 516-379-2689

I see Dr. Nimaroff (Dr. Klein is his partner) they are both associated with North Shore - Manhasset, which I heard has one of the best NICU & they both deal with high-risk pregnancies THey are located in Great Neck 516-472-5700

While South Nassau is a very good hospital, I agree with your choice to find an ob that delivers somewhere else. You need a top notch NICU and unfortunatley, South Nassau doesn't have that. I wish I could deliver at South Nassau but with multiples, I won't be.
My high risk dr. is Dr. Kofinas. He's great but he doesn't deliver so I go to a seperate ob, Dr. Pilliteri, who will deliver my babies. However, he's in Suffolk.

Gabbie, do you see Dr. Nimaroff exlusively, or in addition to an OBGYN?

This is an excellent group - you would want to mainly see Dr. Klein - (victor) he is high risk and specializes in multiples. Dr. Nimeroff is great too. You wouldn't have to see a second doctor they exclusively see patients with multiples and Dr. Klein has high risk training. They are affiliated with NSUH Manhasset.
