Looking for Party "Munchie" Ideas...
I'm trying to think of what else I can put out other than the usual salsa, chips & dip for a birthday party that will have adults and children, just wanted to jazz it up a bit, any ideas that's not going to require a ton of prep? TIA.
PS- It's for 50+ people, so the spinach/ pumpernickel thing is probably out.

Re: Looking for Party "Munchie" Ideas...
I had a 40th birthday party for my husband back in October and this is what I had for appetizers.
I got almost all of it from Costco
mexican dip (peach mango salsa, cream cheese & cheese - layer and put in microwave for 3 minutes or until cheese is melted) - serve w/chips
Shrimp Platter - got this at costco
Wings - Got at a local deli (this was a huge hit)
Cheese/cracker platter
Fried Raviolos w/sauce

Re: Looking for Party "Munchie" Ideas...
cocktail meatballs that you can make and serve in the crock pot
chese/cracker/meat platter (can be bought at a store to save time)
mozarella sticks
veggie platter w/ dip
fruit platter w/ caramel or yogurt dip
you can make your own roll ups w/ flavored wraps, some cold cuts and cheeses and then slice.

Tomato Bacon Cups -if you search for it on allrecipes.com the recipe will come up.
Very easy, doesnt require alot of ingredients. Ive made it for a large # before. If you have a few muffin pans it will help. I use regular size muffin pans not the mini ones.

My recipe is a bit different, I use cheddar cheese, but they are really good! Worth it to make them!

I just saw your other post and was about to say heyy thats what I call tomato bacon cups! lol. Everyone loves these and they are so easy. Ive made it w/o the bacon too and they come out really good also.
I also season the mixture with some black pepper, garlic powder, and oregano - its not necessary but IMO adds a little extra flavor.

Re: Looking for Party "Munchie" Ideas...
Cream Cheese Burritos
1 pound of whipped cream cheese (it has to be whipped because it spreads more smoothly)
Package of flour burritos 1 medium onion chopped finely Can of black olives chopped Jar of Roasted peppers chopped finely
Spread the cream cheese over the whole burrito (thin layer) dont make it too thick otherwise it will break when you roll
Add at one end of the burrito the onion, olives, and peppers. Roll them up.
Pack them in wax paper and refrigerate them for at least 10 hours. The longer you keep them in the fridge the firmer they will become.

How about mini-cheeseburger puffs. I saw this on the foodnetwork (Paula Deen's Son)
This is the recipe and link so that you can see the picture but you can use any recipe you like for the burgers and place them in pastry puff.

Re: Looking for Party "Munchie" Ideas...
Not hot but still yummy for snacky style foods. Buy round pretzels...hanovers or better made. You have to get the round ones or it doesn't work. Buy hershey's hugs or kisses, about 3 bags kisses to 1 bag of pretzels. Lay out the pretzels on a cookie sheet (line with parchment paper or wax paper.) Put a kiss or a hug in the middle, bahe 325 for about 2-3 minutes, just long enough for the chocolate to melt. Leave on cookie sheet until the chocolate sets up. It is a yummy sweet snack. Salty and sweet are so yummy together.

Re: Looking for Party "Munchie" Ideas...
pepperoni roll
pizza dough (you can buy it uncooked at the pizza place)
roll it out like you are making a pizza, put a layer of mozzarella and pepperoni and roll it up and bake.
So good and you can really put anything you want in the middle...
