Looking for recommendations on party venue that's reasonably priced?
(read inexpensive) I'm going to embark on planning a 25th Anniversary party for my parents but they are divorced so this is Dad and wife and i only have one younger brother for whom money is tight so it's pretty much on me and I still have Mom and husband in a few years too so I can't go broke on this. Please share approximately how much pp and did that include booze (which is a must) and of course where is it located. Looking for Long Island or adjacent counties. not too far please.
TIA!

How many people & what towns are good for you?

Not sure guest list yet, just starting planning but should be a place that could accomodate b/w 50 and 100 I would think.

What is reasonably priced? How much do you not want to pay at most pp?

Check out Butterfields in Hauppauge-they have very reasonable party packages and the place is HUGE

Try Alias, Smith and Jones in Oceanside, they've always had the best prices

Thanks Lois, that's a good suggestion, but that's a restaurant right? I'm thinking it should be the kind of place where I can have a DJ and dancing though. Can you do that there?

Like somewhere around $20 pp would be terrific!

I think you're better off doing it at a K of C or something (Look into the Elks Club in Oceanside or the Firehouse in Bellmore...)
$20pp including booze + a place to dance might be difficult to find otherwise.

Yes, you can. We looked into having my law school grad party there a few years ago. We didn't have that many people, though - maybe 40 or 50 max. We wound up having it at another restaraunt that I don't think could hold 100 ppl....

I agree with Kara.
The cheapest I found was between $37-$45 a person.

Re: Looking for recommendations on party venue that's reasonably priced?
this yacht club in northport (sorry dont remember the name, someone wil know here )
they let you bring your own wine/alcohol, but they charge pp/they serve the food. It was reasonably priced, but I didnt care for the guy that sat with us. he went back on his word a few times, and just didnt seem honest and professional.
but if its a nice time of year, its right on the water, nice spacious private room.
barbara/nthshgrl knows the place!

Re: Looking for recommendations on party venue that's reasonably priced?
I was going to suggest a bar/restaurant but I don't think it would work for you.
I'd look into a K of C maybe. I had my engagement pty @ one and it worked out great.

The Snapper Inn (Oakdale) & the Milleridge Inn Carriage House (Jericho) both do buffets that aren't too much, but they are more than $20. The Snappper Inn lists a few options around $30, before booze.

Re: Looking for recommendations on party venue that's reasonably priced?
Ok well if there aren't any that are going to be in $20-30 range than which ones would be in the $30-40 range? thank you for the suggestions and please keep me coming. I know there are inexpensive places out there but they're hard to find. We used KofC in Oceanside and loved it but I thought it would be nice to do a different place this time.
