Re: looking for romantic dinner ideas
we did this a few years ago. i think we'll do it again this year.
we made a cheese/wine fondue together. we dipped baguette cubes, keilbasa sausage, mushrooms, brussels sprouts, broccoli, new potatoes. dh says he wants to do french fries this time!
we used a martha stewart recipe w/ gruyere cheese, emmental cheese, white wine...
thanks for posting. I think we'll do this again this year!

Re: looking for romantic dinner ideas
How about all the aphrodisiac foods. Or high end foods like oysters, foie gras, lobster, and a chocolate fondue or try to make a flourless choc. cake with molten center

Re: looking for romantic dinner ideas
Chicken Scarpiello 1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast Salt and pepper 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan 2 red bell peppers, seeded and cut into 1-inch pieces 3 hot cherry peppers, drained and chopped 4 cloves garlic, chopped or thinly sliced 1/2 cup dry white wine 1/2 cup chicken stock or broth Red potatoes, quartered Onion, quartered Mushrooms (portabellos) halved 2-3 Fresh Lemons (optional)
1/4 cup chopped Italian flat-leaf parsley, a couple of handfuls 2 tablespoons juice from hot pepper jar Preparation Heat a large, heavy skillet over medium high heat. Cut chicken into large chunks and season with salt and pepper and poultry seasoning. Add 1 tablespoon extra-virgin oil to the hot pan, 1 turn in a slow stream. Set chicken into pan and do not turn for 2 or 3 minutes or you will tear the meat. Brown chicken 3 minutes on each side and then remove all of the chicken to a warm plate. Add bell peppers, hot peppers, onions, potatoes, mushrooms, and garlic to the pan. Saute the peppers and garlic for 5 minutes, tossing and turning them frequently. Add wine to the pan and reduce 1 minute. Scrape up the pan drippings. Add the chicken stock and bring it up to a bubble. Set the chicken back into the pan. Toss the parsley with the chicken and peppers and cook the chicken through, 2 or 3 minutes. Scatter a little hot pepper juice over the pan. Squeze 1-2 fresh lemons into pan. Slice remaining lemon and place on top. (optional). (I got it from a LIFer, and add a few of my own ingredients)
(I often substitute in ground lean turkey & add more veggies if I want too) Moo Shu Beef Lettuce Cups Ingredients 1 sprays cooking spray 1 pound uncooked lean ground beef (with 7% fat) or 2 cups chopped cook white chicken breast 1 cup onion(s), yellow, thinly sliced 2 Tbsp ginger root, fresh, minced 2 medium garlic clove(s), minced 2 cup bok choy, thinly sliced 1 can water chestnuts, rinsed in warm running water and chopped 1 medium sweet red pepper(s), thinly sliced 2 cup button mushrooms, thinly sliced (about 10 mushrooms) 2 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce 8 leaf Boston bibb lettuce Preparation Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray and set pan over medium-high heat. Add beef, onion, ginger and garlic; cook until beef is browned and onion is soft, breaking up meat as it cooks, about 5 to 7 minutes. Add bok choy, water chestnuts, red pepper, mushrooms and soy sauce; cook until bok Choy is wilted and pepper is tender-crisp, about 3 to 5 minutes. Spoon about 1/2 cup of beef mixture into each lettuce leaf. Yields 2 filled leaves per serving. Serve with extra soy sauce if desired.

Re: looking for romantic dinner ideas
Lobster tails and steak! Do a surf and turf, then make garlic mash and spinach. Serve some nice champagne/white wine.

You could do lobster tails with steak. Or you could do sea scallops in butter and wine(really good!) We go to this restaurant where they serve "angry lobster" It is a special seasoning that goes over the lobster-split open and they get broiled. You could probably find a recipe online. good luck

I like to make tuna steaks with mango salsa & sauteed spinach and/or rice.
Serve with your favorite white wine.

Re: looking for romantic dinner ideas
For our first anniversary we made Filet Mignon. We had homemade Chocolate Mousse with fresh whipped cream for dessert.
