L'Oreal Lash Boosting Serum - Review - With pics

Day 1 and 2: Sorry I don't have pics yet, but I will describe my lashes for you. They are normal length but sparse and fall out more than they should IMO. Mascara usually adds length but not volume which is really what I need.

I began using the serum on 2/4/10 at night. It needs to be applied twice a day. You first put it on your lashes like you would mascara and then as a thin line on your upper lid like a liner. They do not recommend using this on your lower last line, and I am not. The wand does not have bristles... it is more felt-like in appearance.

(They also make a value pack that includes the Lash Boosting Mascara for day and Lash Boosting Serum for night, but since the mascara includes a primer and I HATE primers, I didn't buy it, and the serum can be used under mascara.)

So far, so good. The serum is very easy to use and dries quickly. I have also had zero eye irritation, even though I was a little too generous along the lash line last night. This is a bonus since I have sensitive eyes.

Although the serum can be used under mascara, it needs to dry first, and that is the tricky part. If you do not apply and then separate your lashes, it can dry them together and then your mascara clumps once it is on. Today I am going to use a clean (used but washed) mascara wand to separate my lashes after primer but before mascara to see if that works. Otherwise I will forego mascara for the time being and stick to darker liner to emphasize my lash line.

So far, the only difference I have noticed is that I am not losing lashes as much as before. I don't expect to see real results before two weeks (greater results expected around 4 weeks), but I will keep taking pics every few days to compare.



Update Day 10 (2-14-10):

So far, so good. Still no irritation, and I see a difference in the amount of lashes I am losing (very few in the past few days).

I don't really notice a huge difference yet, nor am I expecting one, but I do see a small difference in "volume" which I think is due to new lash growth.

The only thing I don't love is that if you're not careful, and put on a bit too much, the serum peels up a little bit off of your eyelid. It is also hard to put on my shadow primer without removing some of the dried serum. Eyeliner has not been a problem so far (I use a gel waterproof liner and it doesn't pull up the serum).

I am curious to hear your results as well. I have been using a lash booster for a couple years and I get great results, however it's pricey. I would love to hear if this works. I may switch if it does.
