Losing lots of hair...
Is anyone losing lots of hair lately? For about a year now my hair falls out in clumps - is always all over my clothes...my ponytail is half of what it use to be ... Besides stress, what can cause this? I'm guilty of not taking a vitamin daily... anything I can do to stop my hair from falling out and breaking easily? thanks

have your doctor check you for thyroid dysfunction as this is a sign. It's one of the most commonly undiagnosed disorder in women in their 20's

Re: Losing lots of hair...
Definetly have your thyroid check, you might want to go to an endocrinology instead of your regular doctor.
I asked my regular doctor to check my thyroid and she told me everything was fine but I was having trouble losing weight and i was always cold, tired and losing hair.
I went to a specialist and I did have a underactice thyroid.
My girlfriend had the ame thing happen her regular doctor told her everything was fine turned out she had a tumor on her thyroid.

interesting...I'm going to look into this - my Primary just recently checked my thyroid levels (T3,T4,TSH) and everything looked OK. A specialist does more than run these tests?

I just had a thyroid blood test and ultrasound. The bloodwork came back normal, but the ultrasound came back showing a nodule.
My doctor referred me to an endocrinologist and I asked them on the phone while making my appointment if my bloodwork came back normal could I still have issues and they said absolutely yes. They do much more detailed blood testing.

Re: Losing lots of hair...
I recently read that having Polycystic Ovarian Disease could cause clumps of hair to fall out in women. Any connection with that?
