Loss of Appetite
At the beginning of your pregnancy, did you lose your appetite?
For the 2 weeks, I am not hungry. I actually have to force food down. Is this normal?

Re: Loss of Appetite
very normal sweety! I still don't have much more of an appetite than I normally do!
A friend of mine had no appetite for most of her appetite! The baby will take the nutrients first then your body gets whatever is left over...so try to take that vitamin and get plenty of protein!

Re: Loss of Appetite
I have had this throughout my pregnancy. I am 28 weeks now and have lost around 7 lbs. I have very little interest in food and have to force myself to eat.
My midwife doesn't seem to be concerned as baby seems to be growing well and everything is in order. She has told me that she has recently had a patient that only gained 4 lbs at her due date.
I don't think its anything to be worried about. The best thing is, at 28 weeks, I have only just started to show!

Re: Loss of Appetite
During my first PG, I lost a lot of weight in the first 2 months, I wasnt so much sick as just didnt want to eat anything. I used to force feed myself toast and decaffeinated tea...And snack on veggies. I think its normal, some women lose their appetite in the beginning, and you really dont need to up your calories that much early on, so if you try to eat you will be ok.

Re: Loss of Appetite
It's very normal, my appetite is only now beginning to kick in ,and I'm 13 weeks. Don't worry the baby is getting everything it needs from you, which is VERY little at this point.

Re: Loss of Appetite
I was so sick that pretty much all foods made me sick. I barely ate for the first 3 moths.

Re: Loss of Appetite
Its perfectly normal. Just make sure you keep hydrated - drink lots of fluid - water, juice and small snacks throughout the day.
The appetite will come back.

Re: Loss of Appetite
I am so glad that others have been going through this.
I haven't had m/s, so I have been lucky so far with that. But all day, I try to force any food down. I do drink alot of water all day, so at least I know I am getting my fluids.
This is just so not normal for me - I used to eat me and DH out of a house!!

Re: Loss of Appetite
As all the ladies have said--soooo normal. This is like the first time in my life where I lost my appetite. I still do not have a big one and I am 18 weeks.

Re: Loss of Appetite
I had NO appetite in the beginning months which is not like me at all. I was only eating to keep me from getting sick as it was the only thing that helped the queasiness. I was only really able to handle bland foods. It passed around month 4 then my appetite came back thank God!
