Lost my sister

I was wondering if anyone on this bored has lost a brother/sister. My sister passed away last July at the age of 27. She was my only sibling. I am having a really hard time dealing with this and I am finding it is taking a toll on all of my other relationships. I miss her terribly and I dont know how to handle this. I thank god every day for my boys because they keep me going.

I was just curious on how any of you handled this situation. I feel like I can go out of my mind....

I have not lost a sibling but I wanted to say how very sorry I am that you are going through that. Have you considered going to a grief counselor or a bereavement (sp?) group? When my mom passed away, it helped to talk to someone and help sort through the feelings.

I couldn't even imagine what you go through. My sister is my best friend and I'd be lost without her.

I would definitely suggest grief counseling or speaking to a clergy member (if you are religious)

My best friend lost her sister in September and has since been going to therapy, and is so far helping. Maybe you can give it a try?

Hi, I lost my brother last year from a heart attack he was 43. He was my only sybling also. We were completly different but we were close. I went through a period of feeling very alone. I stopped calling people, in fact I still dont' call anyone. I find I want to be alone a lot. How are you doing?

I find that I either like to be alone or be completely involved with my babies. They are the only thing that brings a smile to my face. It saddens me that my sister never go to meet them. She was so crazy and outgoing she would have been a huge asset in their lives.

All I keep thinking about lately that if god forbid something happens to my parents then I am all alone. I mean I have a great husband but my family life seems over and it scares me to think I will have no one to turn to.
