LOVE/HATE relationship....
I have a seriously love/hate relationship with my flip flops. I wear them pretty much everyday. the flattest flip flops ever.... MY FEET ARE KILLING ME!
I'm convinced I have a stress fracture in at least one of my feet but I don't want to go to the dr for him to tell me I need to wear a boot. My other foot hurts on the bottom.. like right below the ball of my foot in the middle.. sharp pain.
I don't ever want to wear anything else besides flip flops in the summer.. but i'm destroying my feetsies..

Re: LOVE/HATE relationship....
I have the same thing! My husbands Uncle is a foot doctor...he told me its tendonitis. Its on the side of my foot, right where the tendon goes into the bone. He said its from flip flops.

on my left foot the pain is on the bottom.. not the side.. it like goes up into my foot.. can't describe it..
on my right foot it's ontop and like pulls up to my ankle..

I have the same exact thing, both feet. I've been trying to wear sneaks the past 2 days but I hate it!

Re: LOVE/HATE relationship....
I just switched from Havianas to my new Mellas that I got from Shopbop. I have heard good things about them. They are terry cloth and really comfy - they have to break in so I'm wearing them around tonight.

I have those.. they are comfy!!! I am wearing reefs today because they have an arch.. and I thought that might help a bit.

Re: LOVE/HATE relationship....
You probably have planter fasciatus. I have that problem and need to be VERY careful with the flip flips I wear. Even sneakers and shoes have been known to hurt if there is not enough support.
Mine came about from playing softball all weekend, cleats do not help your feet.
Wear supportie sneakers. A podiatrist would most likely tell you the same and maybe give you an anti-inflamatory.

Re: LOVE/HATE relationship....
if flip flops were causing me so much pain, I would stop wearing them.
there are lots of other options out there. its just noth worth it IMO.

Bingo!!! You have to wear something with support or it will just get worse. I don't wear flip-flops at all anymore. I stick to my Birks and the plantar fasciatis is just about gone.

Re: LOVE/HATE relationship....
I was always a flip flop fan and now that I'm in Florida, it's a 12 month a year thing. I totally developed plantar fasciatis this year! It is not realistic that I'm NOT going to wear flips, so I try to wear a sandal with an arch during the day and I try to wear my Fit Flops more than regular totally flat flip flops. They're not that stylish, but they have more of an arch.

Re: LOVE/HATE relationship....
I tried the fit flops and my instep is too deep.
I get some foot pain too. I commute in them. I need to find an alt.
