Lovenox users - help please
Hi - I'm posting for a friend. She is 8 weeks pregnant & needs to be on Lovenox injections throughout the pregnancy. She just found out that her insurance only pays 50% of the cost leaving her with a bill of 600.00 a month. Does anyone know if some pharmacies sell it cheaper than others or if this is any other way to get the injections? The insurance company, unfortunately is a dead end since it is in their policy that they only cover half. Thanks for any info you could provide.

Re: Lovenox users - help please
I don't know of any pharmacies that have it cheaper. She can however ask her peri about switching to Heperin instead. She will need to be monitored more closely but it will save her quite a bit of money. She can also try having her doctor contact the ins company and tell them she has a history of osteoporosis (sp?) and that going on Heperin could deplete too much calcium so she has to have the Lovenox. The ins co may cover it then since it is considered a medical necessity with no alternative. Good luck to your friend..

She could also try going to the manufacturer and seeing if they will donate some to her. I also have TONS of 40 mg pre filled syringes as I only take it for half my cycle. I porobably have about 6 boxes with 10 shots each I can give her.

Thanks for your responses. She doesn't want the heparin because of the risks (for her particular situation) but I will give her your suggestions). She had already contacted the manufacturer and they declined helping her.

I will find out from her if this what she needs & will let you know. That is very kind of you!

Re: Lovenox users - help please
For her, the heparin is too risky - apparently there are different side effects from it than levonox. Thanks for everyone's input!
