Low Carb Diet - Question
Do you think this enhances your chances of getting pregnant or inhibits them?
I have read so many things and I am throughly confused.

Re: Low Carb Diet - Question
The kind of low-carb diet where you eat NO carbs? Yes, definitely will affect your body therefore your chances of getting pregnant. My nutritionist made sure to tell me that. If you eat complex carbs and knock out simple carbs like white flour and sugar, you will be doing your body a favor. HTH

Re: Low Carb Diet - Question
I had read someplace that women that restict carbs can increase their chance of becoming pregnant.
Currently, I follow a low carb diet, probably eating 30 grams of carbs a day, under the supervision of a nutritionist. I have lost about 20 lbs since August and I have been quite happy so far.
I am just trying to determine how I will eat when I reach my goal weight...because that is when I will be TTC - in Feb or March 2007.

Re: Low Carb Diet - Question
Firstly, congratulations on your weight loss!! I think you should keep eating complex carbs and leave out the simple carbs like white bread, sugar, cereals. Good luck!!!

Re: Low Carb Diet - Question
My nutitionist and doctors put me on a low carb diet. However, it's the simple sugars I am to stay away from. I can eat whole grains, brown rice, etc. They say it should help.

They say it should help with TTC?

Yes. But that's for me because I have been having major hormonal issues. I have a pituitary tumor that has been secreting its on hormones. I'd ask the doctor specifically in your case.
Although, I have heard that a diet rich in whole grains instead of simple sugars helps anybody regulate their body's functions.

Re: Low Carb Diet - Question
If you suffer from PCOS, eating Low-Carbs can be very Beneficial to TTC. It is all about eating the good carbs vs. bad carbs.
