low progesterone
I just got the results back from my first sonogram and blood tests. I SAW A HEARTBEAT But, today I was told I had only a 4.1 level of progesterone which is low. The doctor said this means that it may not be a normal pregnancy. Any words of advice? I'm freaking out!

Re: low progesterone
tell him you want supplemental progesterone ASAP!! Some people have a short luteal phase which is what forms the pregesterone level-this could be a normal pregnancy but without progesterone it could not be so get your Dr on thephone Good luck

I agree. I am surprised he didn't offer supplements on the spot.

Re: low progesterone
I agree with everyone else....Call and demand progestrone supplements! Don't take no for an answer. Progestrone is very important to a healthy pregnancy and lots of women need to use supplements.

I agree. I am surprised he didn't offer supplements on the spot. i know some dr.'s have mixed feelings about progesterone. my dr. stated she would give them to me if i wanted but believes deep down it only prolongs the inevitable if that's the way it was to go to begin with. some people swear by them, some don't...i found it to be an interesting perspective.

Re: low progesterone
My Progesterone levels were low the 1st few weeks. I was offered hormones and refused them. I was then monitored with weekly blood tests to keep track. We felt what was to be would be and my body would know what to do in either case.
As with all, we left it in God's hands and now we are currently 8 months pregnant and all is doing very well Best of luck to you in whatever you decide to do! We are happy with the choice we made and even had a 2nd opinion and know we made the right choice.
