Re: low tsh?? and hoshimoto's disease..
first, i don't have hoshimoto's but dr. b did find that i have hypothyroidism. i was really upset too and didn't want to take meds for it but once i saw my endocrinologist she made me feel so much better about it. i don't know about hoshimoto's but i'm sure the endocrinologist will get your levels under control. i take a synthroid every day and feel 100% better because of it (and i never knew that i felt bad)

Re: low tsh?? and hoshimoto's disease..
I have the same thing. Well, actually, I don't actually have the disease (yet), but have the potential for it.
Yes, it is an autoimmune disease.
I also saw the thyroid specialist (Dr. Barandes -is that who you're going to see?) and am now on thyroid medication.
For me, finding this out was actually a good thing, because up until now, I haven't had any answers as to why I haven't been able to conceive a second child. This at least gave us some potential answers.

Re: low tsh?? and hoshimoto's disease..
I have hashimotos disease, and Dr. B found out about it for me too. My first cycle of bloodwork showed by TSH level was 5.5 which is high and means Hypo - underactive thyroid.
I have seen 2 endos and was tolod based on 83 antibodies and a u/s of my thyroid it was hashimotos disease and not just a thyroid condition.
I take synthroid daily and was very upset about this. Even though they said if I wasn't TTC I would have to take it YET, it is important to because apparently since your immune system is attacking your thyroid it is damaging it and by taking the synthroid this limits it.
I am seeing Dr. B's BIL next week, the other 2 endos I saw I didn't like. But I heard miscarriage is common with people who have unknown hashimotos, but once it is under control it shouldn't be a problem.
I just had my 2nd IUI with numbers in the normal range. Since taking don't feel any different, 2 years ago I was sick with what I now believe to be a thyroid storm, what's odd is I had (and sometimes still get) hyper symptoms, not hypo. When I was sick no one could figure out what was wrong with me. I got a copy of my blood work from then and had 3.64 tsh levels, so I guess it was starting then.
Sometimes I still get anxiety, heart pounding, agitation...it seems hyper to me so I am going to discuss with Barandes.
What was your tsh level? I know how you feel, it is SO scary to first hear, I am HOPING this is why I haven't gotten pregnant. Becuase if it is it is supposedly an easy fix.

i guess one more medicine wont kill me lol..
he didnt say my number..he just said it was low and went on about antibodies attacking embroy's and thyroid problems and how it can play a part in my miscarrying and also why i cant concieve since then
it was all a blur really cause last few phone calls have been something else new wrong with me
but from what he said and what i have read maybe balancing all this out between pcos and diabetes andmy clotting issues and hormonal imbalance this will help

I don't know that much about all of this yet, because I only found out 2 months ago. But 2 endos and Dr. B told me that based on this known thyroid disease that it shouldn't prevent pregnancy and that the antibodies don't attack the egg, sperm, embryo...that I was getting confused with NK cells.
But again it is still a concern of mine too.
Also find out your numbers, because ideally you should be between 1-3 for having a baby. I was 5.5 before I knew, the synthroid got me to 1.64 in one month. I think over 3ish is hypo (underactive), and under 1 is hyper (overactive), so when you say your numbers are low I don't understand, shouldn't they be high if you have hashimotos?
Also every Dr has a different guideline. In 2009 when I was sick my blood from my GP said 3.64 which fell into the normal range, he didn't even pick up on it being high.
I am scared too, but I have heard it isn't such a big deal!

Just to touch on this G... from what I read your immune system is attacking your thyroid gland and causing your hormones to be out of wack.
Having hormones out of the normal range could cause problems... like birth defects and possibly difficult getting pregnant, etc. but getting it under control reverses basically everything.
Maybe that's what he meant?

Yep. And FWIW my girlfriend has it and is on her second pregnancy. She had no issues conceiving. Good luck!
