lpn/rn
is anyone an LPN or an RN? where did you go to school? is there a big salary difference between the two? can an lpn work in the hospitals?

My SIL just graduated from Nassau Community and they have a great program. SUNY Farmingdale has one too. Not sure about the $ difference but I would think it would be pretty significant.

yes, big pay difference from LPN to RN, Stony Brook, Molloy, Farmingdale, Adelphi all have really good nursing programs

huge pay difference per hour.
lpn's can work in hospitals (the role varies depending on the setting) though, i think that a majority of lpns work in nursing homes (they're not limited to them, but i think that's where most of them are).
the scope of practice is very different as well- i would read up on each to get a better understanding (allnurses.com is a really good resource).
