Thinking of designing my new livingroom this way:

Walls: BM Westminster Gold
Windows: Espresso Silk Panels
Rug: Espresso Floral (for color pop)
Couch: Brown Leather Sectional
Electric Fireplace with TV over it

Not sure about wall art yet.

I know everyone has a different taste and I've always had a toned style and this time I want to go bold. So, YaY or NaY? Or if you have any suggestions, they're more than welcome!

Thanks!!!!

I wouldn't do the espresso panels with the dark leather sofa. I would get panels that have some of the same colors in your rug. My downstairs den is a BM gold color similar to what you are thinking (it might even be the same one I can't remember the name) and it is a deep color so unless you have a lot of light in that room (which I don't) I would incorporate more color as opposed to lots of browns. I do like the rug you chose so even a panel perhaps in a plaid with the same colors as the rug (reds/golds/tans or even with a cream background) would lighten it up. I did a plaid cornice with blues, greens and lighter gold with cream crown molding and a floral fabric on my bench cushion in the same colors as the cornice fabric. HTH!

I have a similar wall color in my den. with chocolate brown couch and curtains. I love it. It has a warm cozy feeling. i wish I used the room more.

I love the paint color and the individual pieces. I think you have great taste!

I just wonder if it's going to be a bit dark/brown heavy altogether with the espresso curtain panels, sectional, and area rug. I know you said you like neutral, but maybe it will be a bit too monochromatic, esp. since the brown you are using is a very rich, dark shades.

Do you have dark wood furniture, too? Will there be wood floors underneath the area rug, and if so, are they dark stained, too?

I just might consider interspersing some different, lighter color pieces to break up the dark browns. Like maybe the window treatment can be another color (lighter, maybe beige/tan?), or a different area rug. If you have white moldings, that would break it up a bit and brighten things. If it's a big room, maybe it won't seem as dark and you can always bring in pops of color (maybe get throw pillows for the sectional that pick up the brighter colors of the rug).

Also - I love grey with gold, and I think that chocolate brown would work well, too, with those colors. So if you want to stay neutral, another idea would be to go with the gold paint, the chocolate brown sectional, and then bring in charcoal grey as another color (in window treatments, rug). Then you have 3 "base" colors and can accessorize from there.

Thank you so much ladies!

The panels I was actually thinking of getting are not as dark as the ones shown in the picture, but I do like the idea of incorporating another color from the rug. Also, the room in big, bright and airy, hence Im not hesitant with the darker colors. I want to the room to have a cozy feeling.

I would do lighter panels....the rug is a bit busy, I would do something more contemporary. Less is more kind of a thing.

I love that rug! I would also go lighter with the curtains. Or if you want to go bold, I would love a striped untainted as opposed to a solid.
