Lunch Salad Bloating Advice
So I've started work again and I have been bringing salad for lunch for the past 3 days. The salad is small-to medium sized with either tuna or turkey in it. I also eat a Chobani and drink water. But, I've felt uncomfortably bloated. Do you think it's just bc I've had it too many days in a row recently? Should I push through and continue? Is there any vitamin supplement to reduce this feeling? Today I actually went out to the diner for lunch and had egg white western omlette, but still feel bloated ever since 3 days ago..waaa help

not recently...literally romaine with tuna and dressing....or romaine and chopped turkey with dressing- one day I added about 1/4 cup of raw peppers (it was about 4 pepper pieces)

Re: Lunch Salad Bloating Advice
What's your dressing like? I'd start there, check the label for sodium.

Re: Lunch Salad Bloating Advice
Do you have the yogurt with the salad everyday?
Could be the lactose, not the salad.

I looked yesterday bc it's been annoying me even this weekend. It seems high in sodium, so I'm gonna cut that out first before I stop eating yogurt. Thanks girls sometimes I just need the outsiders questions :)

Re: Lunch Salad Bloating Advice
Best part of the salad for me.
I'll choose the best option available and then instead of drizzling on the salad, I dip just a little in the dressing on the side. You would be surprised how much less you use.
I don't beat myself up for eating non-diet food, I just eat in moderation and it's fine.

Re: Lunch Salad Bloating Advice
Some people have a hard time digesting roughage like lettuce. Maybe try some "softer" green veggies and see how they treat you? (green beans are often easier for some)

Re: Lunch Salad Bloating Advice
If you have recently increased your fiber intake drastically by including a daily salad, then that can be the culprit. When I first increased my fiber intake years ago, I was also bloated. Water helps with the digestion, gas-x for pain (thin strips are always in my purse). If it is not that, then I would look at the salad dressing. Because my body is not used to oily salad dressings, I would also get bloated from that. If you are not used to high fat dressings, then that too may be the culprit. hth
ETA" It may not even be the lactose but perhaps a drastic increase in protein in your diet. Chobani is very high in protein.

Re: Lunch Salad Bloating Advice
K thanks all..I'm gonna give it another shot by making my own dressing. If it doesn't work, soft veggies are next to try! Thanks

Re: Lunch Salad Bloating Advice
It could be the Chobani. My mom used to have one every day...it made her so incredibly bloated and uncomfortable( she isn't lactose intolerant) It took her awhile of trying different things until she realized it was the Chobani. Now she cut it down to having it a couple of times a week and she is fine.
