Lupron
Hi Everyone - I had surgery in November and was diagnosed with severe Endometriosis. The Dr. recommended that I take Lupron for one year. Man-this has been so rough. Four days after my first shot I started bleeding very heavy.. so heavy I was forced to stay at home and keep a diaper on. The bleeding lasted for about four weeks and has since stopped. The hot flashes and night sweats are so bad that I have only had about two hours of sleep each night. Has anyone taken Lupron? Any suggestions? Eveything I have read suggests that you should take a six month treatment, so I am not sure why my Dr. wants to be on it for a year. Also, does anyone have any suggestions for the hot flashes and night sweats? I would really appreciate any feed-back. Thanks and God Bless!!!

Re: Lupron
I was in a similar situation. The hot flashes were unbearable. Call your doctor and tell him/her that you would like to be put on 5mg of Agestin, its called add back therapy. It helped with the Lupron side effects. I waited 6 months to tell my doc how awful I felt- the add back therapy was my savior!!! Please call them today!
I know how awful Lupron and endo is. I had MAJOR surgery for endo and a uterine fibroid. The Lupron does work, but it's a lot to handle. Please FM any time is you need to talk. Take good care.

Re: Lupron
I have heard that Lupron was not safe to do for a year??? Usually it's a 3 or 6 month treatment? A year doesn't seem right?
I had a Lap done on 12/2 and I was diagnosed with Severe Endo and my RE wanted me to go on Lupron right away for 3 months to get rid of what they couldn't during the surgery. Well, I refuse to take the Lupron until we've at least tried on our own to get PG. I want it to be the last resort! So we're going to TTC for 6 months, if nothing do the Lupron , and then TTC again for another 6 months before doing an IUI. I personally haven't done it, but know people who have and they all tell me it's horrible, which only makes me not want to do it that much more. I've never heard of that bleeding though?
I would ask though about the length of time they want you to do it. I've never heard of it for that long.
Good luck and I'm sorry I couldn't of been more help!

Re: Lupron
I was on Lupron for about 1 year b/c my endo was pretty bad.
It was grueling, but once I started the 5mg of Agestin (add back therapy) I felt much better and tolerated the Lupron much better.
I was on it two years ago- all my endo is gone. And I recently found out that DH and I are expecting, so I guess it did it's job.
