Lyme Disease
My 10yr old lab mix has just tested positive for this (first time) and the vet has prescribed antibiotics for 28 days. We started the aBs last night and now he's very lethargic and having more trouble with the stairs in our home. Has anyone's dog gone through this? Prognosis is good, right?

Lyme Disease
I have not gone through this with a pet, but I have had Lyme myself. I have no idea if it manifests similarly in dogs and people, but will say there is a common reaction in people, which i had, where within the first day or so of antibiotics, you actually feel much worse. I felt like complete crap the first 24 hours after abs kicked in. My fever went to 106 as an adult, and every part of me ached. Then I started getting better.

Re: Lyme Disease
Is it dormant? My 14 year old tested positive but it had been a very long time since she had a blood test done and was never tested before. I was told it was dormant but was given abs for her. Yesterday was the first day and she seems okay. I was told that it can be hard on her tummy. If your dog is active with Lymes, maybe it is just manifesting itself and she will feel better?
