Lyme Disease Vaccine?
I just brought my 2.5 year old Frenchie for her annual checkup/shots, and the vet suggested the Lyme disease vaccination. My dog has never had it before but since I get nervous about ticks on LI I agreed. When I got home DH asked why did I get that, since the dog already gets Frontline to prevent ticks. I did a little googling and now am very nervous about the risks of the vaccine, which the vet did not mention. Its a 2 part shot so I am thinking of not bringing her in for part 2. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I work for a Holistic Vet. and even she recommends it for areas where there are a lot of ticks.

Thsnks for your response. We actually really don't live in a high tick area, we actually live in NYC, but spend a lot of time on LI, especially in the summer. Regardless I have done a little more asking around and am less concerned about it being dangerous than I was earlier.
