Re: Lynbrook anyone?
I don't live there but know that the Lynbrook school district is really good. It is a huge town. Has lots of shopping. Good commute to the city.

Thanks.. I cant get a handle on the taxes there. MLS listings look so strange to me. I wonder if its bc of village taxes.

Overall nice area with some diversity. Easy commute to NYC - Less than 40 minutes..But on average the taxes are HIGH. I think because it is a village.
We were considering Lynbrook when we were searching for houses but choose Oceanside over it. Mainly because we found nicer homes, larger yards, and slightly lower taxes within our price range.

I do not live in lynbrook but my stepdaughter attended lynbrook from 1st grade to high school gradation. If you have specific questions about the district I may be able to answer them.

My in-laws and sister live in Lynbrook.
Depending on where in Lynbrook you live, could have Lynbrook, Valley Stream, Malverne or East Rockaway school district.

Lynbrook anyone?
I've been here for 8 years - we are very happy. Taxes around 8k which is definitely on the low end. Village offers a public pool, lots of rec and library programs for kids and holiday events. My DD starts kindergarten in the fall so I don't have first hand experience yet but everyone I speak with is very happy w the SD. We hope to upgrade our home in a few years but will most likely stay here. hTH

It's a great area! We are in VS on the border and do a lot in Lynbrook. The taxes are higher because of the village. Also depending upon the sellers, sometimes the taxes are showing deep discounts because they get more tax credits or enhanced star.
