Well any threat is credible but I am wondering if they "know" who likely made the threat and want students to come forward to rat the person out. And also elaborate if it's a hoax or true.

We got our fair share of bomb threats when I was in highschool (right after Columbine). They were usually around midterms, finals, or holidays. All were bogus (thank God). But I hate that kids are stupid enough to do this just to attempt get an extra day off...bc then if it's ever the real thing, people will be skeptical and that's dangerous!

Same here. After Columbine bomb threats essentially replaced fire drills in my high school.

Either I lived in a bubble or I was completely oblivious in school b/c I don't recall ever having a bomb threat or anything like that or any kind of drill.

when i was in high school we got them all the time.
sometimes they would send us outside other times they would put us all in the gym.

We had bomb threats all the time and even Bombs went off in lockers as senior pranks.
First thing I thought of when I read this is, someone has a broken heart and wants to ruin Valentines Day

I went to Comsewogue in the 80's and when it was nice out students would call in threats to the main office from the payphone in the cafteria so we could spend more time outside.
Students would set off smoke bombs/stink bombs too which I don't think would be tolerated at all these days.
FWIW my SD graduated from Lynbrook 2 years ago and a few kids from her class still hang out with high school kids, get in fights and start crap online. I'd bet it has something to do with that group.

I never understood bomb threats.
If you really want to set off a bomb and cause injury and damage, why would you warn anyone about it so they can try to stop it?

I never got that.
I agree. I feel like in most cases its more likely that someone wanted to get out of school or work that day or wanted to be spiteful by ruining the day for others.
