MAC users...OMG...I think all my photos are GONE
2 1/2 years worth of photos......
I was cleaning out the HD yesterday (I export from iphoto to HD to post and e-mail) and now my photo library has NO PHOTOS!!!

do a search for My Pictures-- see if they come up.
Have you emptied your trash yet?

what I don't understand is that I cleared out the pics from my personal file as well as PICTURES.
Does the photo library get backed up in PICTURES automatically?

I would think they would still be retrievable. I don't know much about MACs but an IBM they would be with the right program.

easiest thing to do is open up a new finder window and type "jpg" in the search window - see what comes up!

there is Library and Pictures.....
iphoto Library is in Pictures, but it's empty

Shana - we've brought computer hard drives into our office for employees that have lost all of their children's photos. WHile they're not a Macs, they were able to retrieve them
Whatever you do, DO NOT reformat the drive until you get a computer techie who knows how to retrieve files. I'll ask our guy tomorrow what he suggests.

I think that everything that is in iPhoto is backed up somewhere..
Let me poke around my computer a little more..

i think there is a way with a mac to go back a few days in its history, so it would be like you never deleted anything... i rmember doing this with my PC in college, then something happened to my mac and there was a way to do it..

everytime I try to go to my hard drive- my computer does nutty things-- but, I just did a search for iphoto library-- and stuff came up-- did you try that?

did you try using spotlight to search for .jpg or to search for whatever you named your pics?

the iphoto library is there, but has no pictures in it.
