I said it on the other thread-if it's true it's disgusting. I just don't know if I believe her.
I think she is still using. She looks f*ucked up in the pics I've seen of her.
She did also go on a publicity tour years ago talking about her drug use and rehab. It turned out she was totally lying and was wasted that whole time.
ETA: She was telling everyone she was clean and sober for years...not true.
Exactly-this is what makes me doubt her story. I hate to say that about anyone, but she has proven herself untrustworthy and her dad isn't around to answer these allegations.

I am completely disgusted and repulsed.
I don't understand it. This is the 1st time I have ever heard of someone who was molested by her father and "almost" think it's not a big deal. I feel no "disguss" in her words for him. I think that's what disturbs me the most.
I can never imagine sleeping with my dad even if I was under the influence. NEVER!!!!

She said it became consensual. So why does everyone feel bad for her? If he forced herself on her when she was younger, thats abuse and it should have been reported. But to go along with it years later and allow it to happen? And then talk about it like this? 
She's just as disgusting as he is!

Really? You think an adult who is raped and drugged up by their father is capable of making decisions? She was abused and at the very least drugged up by her father as a teenager. She got fired from her TV show for her drug use. Her father was a known user who, according to this memoir- shot her up with heroin for the first time. So I think that anyone whose father drugs her up is not capable of making good decisions.

I read that article on MSN this morning.. and what I found MOST distubing was that it was consentual at one point and she had an abortion bc she didn't know who the father was..

I guess I didnt add in my original post that I DO feel sorry for what happened to her as a teenager.
I've never been on drugs before and can understand NOT reporting abuse. You hear it everyday - kids are ashamed or feel it was there fault.
I just cant see how years later she could consent to it. And she SEEMS to think its ok based on her own quotes. Thats what I find gross. She knew it was wrong because she said they were both going to hell. I just dont understand why she would let it go on.

It's about "how" she is reporting it "now". Like it was not a big deal. Oh yes, my dad and I had sex. Just like she just ate a reeses cup.

I am sorry but if I found out that my daddy did drugs with me (assuming like you said she was very drugged up!!), I would not be reporting it like that. I would be VERY mad that my dad used me. Put me in danger at such young age.

Her story is she was raped.
Lucky for her he is dead and can't give his side of the story.

Well when your drugged up and raped by your father, it tends to affect your judgment and value of what's right from wrong. That is how "years later she could consent to it". If your dad (and his friends) have sex with you at a youngish age- you tend to think its OK.
As a former abuse counselor, many victims try to rationalize their behavior because they think they did something to cause it. Or if they get sexual pleasure from it (especially in cases of children's first sexual experience), the consider it consenual.
I just think that someone who is raped and drugged by their parent is capable of consenting to anything. I mean, he himself stated that he was injected heroin and cocaine into HIMSELF every 15 minutes for 20 years.

I watched her interview on Oprah and was glued to the TV. I find this story most shocking because she is telling it at all. I don't think this falls under "there's no such thing as bad publicity". I think this is as bad a thing to admit about yourself as possible. She must have been in a constant state of drug induced oblivion to have made the choices she made. I can't even imagine the severity of her drug abuse. It's a sick story and sadly it is her reality. She said that this book has given her purpose. It's amazing that she is still alive to tell the story.

I believed she was telling the truth.
I really felt for her.
Why would anyone make up a story like this. She has a son who has to listen to this. As a mother I can't imagine putting my child through listening to this if it wasn't true. And another post on here had comments from her sister saying she believed it was true. Which makes me think the family may have had suspensions something was going on.
As for why the book now. Maybe it's to help in her recovery. She said she's been clean for year. Maybe this is what she needed to "release" to move on.
I wish her the best.
She's had some h e l l of a life.
ETS: I BET OPRAH will have emails from viewers stating Mackenzie is not alone. The world is made up of all kinds. I will not be surprised if she has a follow up to this show with other stories.
