Made an appt. with an ENT today - a question for those of you who have gone to one
I cannot take these sinus headaches anymore. I used to only get them once in a blue moon, but now it's been almost every day! its intolerable
for those of you have gone to an ENT, what can I expect? I've never been to one before. is he going to send me for a ct scan?

i had ct scans b/c of another issue that trumped my sinus headaches but thats how i found out i had chronic sinusitis...
they can also do an in office procedure to sort of scope ur sinus stuff.. .its very uncomfy but not "painful"

i had one doc x-ray my head.
usually they know what the deal is. Your headaches could be due to allergy. There are lots of allegeries popping up this season.
I don't think the doc will send you for tests right away...he/she may try some other therapies first.

Oh I've sooo been in your shoes!
I used to get chronic sinus infections all the time. I was constantly on different kinds of antibiotics, which mess up the bc pill, which I hated.
If you're very congested, the Dr. might put a small scope up your nose and may be able to suction some stuff out. It helps for a bit.
I did have a ct scan, but originally not in his office. I actually had to go to an MRI place for one. At a later appt. I had a ct scan in the ENT office, and they had the results in minutes. (So much more convenient than the 1st time).
I had severely blocked sinus passages, a majorly deviated septum, and a few other sinus issues and opted to have sinus surgery last year. So far so good!
But my case was severe. Hopefully he can prescribe an anthisthamine for allergies, or even a strong antibioitic if it's an infection, and you will be good to go!
No need to be worried! Good luck!
