I calculated it in e-tools and it's 3 points per cup.

Yes, me too. This is an on going debate. My weight watcher leader calculated this with a few fellow leaders. This recipe, when calculated by hand actually comes out to 1.5 points, but they did not bother with the .5 with the recipe name. I guess we could call it "1.5 point Chili." The reason it comes out to more through the recipe builder is because it counts 0 point items as points. I do not count veggies at all, but some might depending on the quantity eaten as does the calculator. If this recipe is followed correctly and not overcooked, one should get about 20 cups. If it is over cooked, it will cook down and produce less. Here is what I put into the recipe builder and my results based on what I used:
Weight Watcher Chili POINTS® value per serving | 2 Servings | 20
Main Meals |
Ingredients
1 pound uncooked lean ground beef (with 7% fat) 15 1/2 oz canned kidney beans 15 1/2 oz canned pinto beans 11 oz canned yellow corn 4 oz Diced green chiles 16 oz Fat-Free Refried Beans 15 oz Diced Tomatoes 16 oz canned tomato sauce 1 large onion(s) 1 cup water 1 1/4 oz Taco Seasoning Mix 6 serving HIDDEN VALLEY RANCH
Instructions
Chop onion and brown ground beef. Add the rest of the ingredients (DO NOT drain anything.) Bring to a boil over medium heat and then simmer for 15 minutes.
Do not overcook. Should make about 20 cups if done correctly.
ETA: I also measured out the pot I made and I got 20 cups out of it. If you are not getting 20 cups, it might be a variation in sizes of items being used, or undrained liquid quantities might vary from products to product. You may have to add more liquid.
ALSO, make sure you count 1 pound of UNCOOKED ground beef, not cooked. That will also make a difference in calculation.
