Madonna Perinatal in Mineola
Does anyone go there??? If so, who do you see & how do you like them? As you all know from my post yesterday, I am going Friday & I am not sure who I am seeing. I originally had an appt with Dr Faustein today but had to cancel bc of schedule conflicts.
TIA

Re: Madonna Perinatal in Mineola
I practically live there. I see the Dr. every 1-2 weeks. I usually see Dr Faustin but I have seen Dr Klein. I wait so long to see either of them for a one minute talk.
Dr Klein seems more cautious. Dr Faustin is a little more laid back. They were both very nice to me.

Re: Madonna Perinatal in Mineola
had to go there for preterm evaluation i hate them
no one seemed to know what they were talking about they had me doing cervical lengths till 34w when u r suppose to stop at 32w a dr never had a consult with me instead they had one on my last visit where he didnt know anything about my history took him 20mins to open my cervical length chart which i told him u dont have to show me i know it already
i was fine at 34w no signs of preterm great health history and they are telling me i need to do biophysicals and continue the nst again i had no symptoms or past history to have biophysicals. they just wanted to keep testing on me.
i think they are out for money and had me doing tests for no reason. the nurse once told me why r u still coming here you are fine. i would never go back there ever.
i hope u have a better experience. ps my ob thought they were too much also.

Are they high risk only? My MIL is trying to get me a consult there but Im pretty sure when she called, they told her I would have to be referred by my OB.
I know a few people who have used this practice and love it.

I was actually referred by my OB & they are the ones that made my appt. I am going based on the growth sono I had a 32w where the baby's left lateral brain ventricle was measuing .5mm enlarged. It is just a consult & to do another sono to see if there is any fluid buildup.

I really hope everything works out!! My MIL thinks I might be a candidate because I have low pregesterone I dont know, shes going to call back today and ask exactly what we will need from my OB in order to get a consult. My next OB appt is tomorrow.

Good luck to you too I would think that your OB would need to think it is necessary for you to go there but not sure if low progesterone actually constitutes as a need.

I think you have to be referred by your OBGYN. They are for high risk (twins, gestational diabetes, etc) .
They also do sonos like the Ultrascreen, Level II and growth sonos and amnios.
It is always crowded, there is always a wait but they do check me every week so I think my baby is in good hands. I feel like I live there!

Re: Madonna Perinatal in Mineola
I go to the Brightwaters locations...1-2 a week. I also saw them for a good duration of my PG with my son. I saw Dr. Klein with my son and I have been seeing Dr. Goldstein this time around.
They have always been great to me and caught things quickly .

Re: Madonna Perinatal in Mineola
I went there when I was having DD and would not be interested in going back to that practice. I agree that they seem to do more tests than needed as if they are out for the $ and to cover their rear ends, just in case. I love my OB and don't know why he loves this practice. It was so difficult to schedule appointments with them. Sometimes I would wait forever to get in. They were concerned that DD was too small (IUGR, which she wasn't...she's fine and petite still to this day...in my head I knew this all along but of course wouldn't risk anything for my child). From my experience and that of my friend, I feel like after going there you can read too much into the info. and their findings/need for tests, tests, tests, have them say they may want you to deliver early, and to not have much time actually talking to the doctor. There was one point that the Dr. said based on a sono he wanted me to deliver at 37w, I told him no and that we'll do another growth sono at 38w. Well, we saw good growth in that time and I went full term...but if I just listened to him that wouldn't have been the case.

Re: Madonna Perinatal in Mineola
I go to Brightwaters. I went to the Babylon office before they moved to Brightwaters. I am seeing Dr. Goldstien again. I saw him for my first pregnancy as well. I LOVE this practice. I never wait longer then 10 minutes to get in. The nurses and staff are great and Dr. Golstein goes over things as many times as I need so I understand everything. Yes they do a lot of monitoring but I would rather the weekly testing (starting at 30 weeks) then the alternative. I know if my baby develops a problem with its placenta they will find it early before an abruption happens. So an hour a week is worth it for me.
But I have never been to the Mineola office. I can only base my opinion on the Brightwaters office.
Good luck
