magic kit for an 8 year old girl
where can i buy something in the under $20 range in a store? i see kits online, but they are either sold out or who knows how long it will take to ship (and i'd rather not pay the shipping).
i was thinking the Liquid Magic Kit by Scholastic may be cute, or something along those lines. any reviews? this girl was over our house the other day and entertaining everyone with her "magic tricks"...
oh, and i'm in jersey, so i'd need a bigger chain type store
thanks!

I don't know anything about the one you posted, but Melissa & Doug makes a magic set. They have one that is $19.99 and one that is around $29.99.

The Melissa and Doug Deluxe Magic set is great, sturdy and wonderful. I got it from Amazon and it was received in 3 days. Cost about 30 dollars with free shipping.
I also bought the Melissa & Doug Enchanted Rings and Things which was 20 with free shipping - also very good but played to a younger audience.
My friend bought my son a less expensive magic kit at Target - which was probably around 20 dollars. It is not as sturdy - cardboard instead of wood - but he loves it and that's all that matters!
Good luck!

Good luck! yeah, i saw that one but wasn't sure if it would get to me on time and i already have something else for her which would be pushing the total gift to $50+ (which is more than i spent on her sister who is DD's friend) .
i think the ones i checked online at target are all sold out or available only online...i'll stop in a store and see what they have - thanks!
