Before his human gets inaugurated, Major Biden is getting "indogurated."
The soon-to-be first pet is being honored with a virtual "indoguration" celebration on Jan. 17, courtesy of the Delaware Humane Association — the shelter President-elect Joe Biden got him from.
The German shepherd will be the White House's first shelter dog.
Before Biden adopted him in 2018, Major had been one of six puppies who were taken to the shelter "after coming in contact with something toxic in their home," the organization said at the time.

The DHA is advertising the Sunday event as "the world's largest virtual party for dogs," and is using it to raise funds for the shelter. It's being hosted by the "TODAY" show's Jill Martin and will feature an appearance by Sir Darius Brown, a teenage entrepreneur who founded a bow-tie company called Beaux and Paws to help shelter dogs get adopted.

I like Shelter rescue dogs. My current dog, and my previous dog are both shelter rescue dogs.

My 2 dogs are rescue dogs as well, one of them passed away 1 1/2 yrs ago  , he was an 80 lb Pit Bull/Lab mix that believed he was a puppy and would steal kisses from us all the time when we least expected it. We miss him dearly! I’ve also fostered 2 rescue puppies before and it’s such a fulfilling experience. Hopefully having a rescue dog in the WH can bring more awareness so more people can adopt instead of buy.

My 2 dogs are rescue dogs as well, one of them passed away 1 1/2 yrs ago , he was an 80 lb Pit Bull/Lab mix that believed he was a puppy and would steal kisses from us all the time when we least expected it. That's awesome. My current dog is a Pitbull mix. We aren't sure of what she's mixed with. Our previous dog was a Doberman/ German Shepherd mix.

Omg this is so cute!
I have a rescue dog, mini pincher and chihuahua mixed. The sweetest dog ever who loves to cuddle.

I am excited for the WH to feel less cold and a little more "human again. KWIM? Plus, dogs just rule!

I love this so much.
I have a rescue from Alabama through One Love Dog Rescue. He's mostly black with lab ears, beagle snout, rottie eyebrows. People also say they see German shepherd in him. 55 pounds of love. He's the best.
