Making adjustments after a second child????
my husband and I just found out that we are having baby number two in june. we are moving back to long island if we can sel our home in putnam. i will be a sahm and therefore will be living off of one salary. do you thinkit's weird to rent for a couple of years and then buy when i can return to work or my husband begins to make more money. i think we should rent but he thinks we should buy. he does not make a lage salary by any means. i just need advice.

I think it's an ideal time to buy if you can swing it, but you're better off posting on the home board. They're much more in touch with the marketplace than I am.
If you start out able to manage on one salary, when you go back to work & continue the same spending habits, you'll have money to save (provided you make more than daycare costs).

I agree with Barbara, If you can swing it, buy now. We always say thank God we bought when we did (as soon as we were married) because with the prices of everything, and with 3 kids, it would be impossible to save for a down payment.
