Making an apartment?

We will be closing on our cape next week and wanted to make a 2nd floor 1 bedroom apt.

We will be residing in the town of babylon, anyone know their codes? I went to their website but nothing was there.

Also, those who rent..how long did it take to find a tenant?

My dh is afraid if we put money into this we wont find somone.

Also what would u charge all included for a 1-bedroom, bath, Kitching/living combo, balcony, private entrance?

well we are looking for ways to make some income. a new house and new baby is going to put us very tight for a little while.

I know a friend who added an apartment, very similar to what you are saying, also to a cape in Lindenhurst which is part of town of babylon. Her taxes were like $6800 or so to begin with and then after the apartment it was close to $10,000. You need to provide your tenant, off street parking. So you need to have one or the other:
A) A driveway that will fit 4 or more cars
B) Build a second driveway on your property. There is a whole bunch of other stuff, you need to go to the town hall and ask. My gf is getting $950 for her all inclusive apartment. Hope this helps.
