Making chili - can I substitute 16 oz of jarred tomato sauce for canned?
I forgot to pick up the canned tomato sauce but I have a jar of Bertoli. Can I just substitute?

You technically could but you will have to adjust the flavors as jarred tomato sauce already has flavoring added.

I'd just use plain canned tomatoes and amp up the other seasoning

Eh, I wouldn't. I actually did the same thing! I made the entire chili last night but have to pick up the tomatoes on my way home from work tonight.
