Making larger photos
I want to enlarge a wedding photo to a much larger size, not like a gigantic wall poster... What is a good website or photo place to do that?
TIA!!

MPix
Regardless of where you go, if yuo have a digital file, it should be high resolution to make an enlargement.

Re: Making larger photos
Do you have the negative or is it a digital file? Depending on which one you're using and what you're using it for I have a few suggestion. Do you need high end quality?

Re: Making larger photos
I have the negative and the proof. I just want a nice *large* photo from our wedding to frame.

Posted by Stefanie I have the negative and the proof. I just want a nice *large* photo from our wedding to frame. I would go with enlarging it from a negative. It comes out the best. However, if you scan your proof at a high resolution, you can upload it to any photo site, and buy it from them.

I would take the negative to a higher quality photo processing place. Meaning, not a drugstore, etc. Cameta Camera in Amityville for example.

I agree--Do you want to do it online? I think if you use the negative you should go to a photoplace, but you could get decent quality on-line if you scan it at high res.
Actuallly, DH's aunt scanned a wallet sized picute at CVS & had it enlarged toa 4x6 & I was surprised at how well it came out. I thought it was an original picture.

I agree. I've used Diversified Photo in Plainview, Time Life Photo Center (Rock Center) and Duggal (West 20's). All were pretty good.

Re: Making larger photos
Don't use shutterfly from your scanned pic. Mine came out blurry when I did it. It looks ok but I want to do it again so it's clearer.

Re: Making larger photos
Thanks girls, I'm going to take the negative to a better photo place. Do you think they'll do the enlargement since it's from a professional photographer?

Re: Making larger photos
Some places will not make reprints from negatives from a professional unless you have a release from them.

Re: Making larger photos
This is the case at most places. Call ahead of time. I would assume that since you had the negative, that may be construed as having the photographer's permission to reprint.
I was not asked for a release when I went to Diversified with my wedding negatives. The other places I've been didn't ask but they were my own pictures.
