Mallora/Majorca and Barcelona?
Anyone go to Mallorca/Majorca? We are thinking of hitting up Barcelona and Mallorca in June. I am not a huge fan of Barcelona (prefer Seville) but DH and our friends have never been to Spain at all and want to go there.
I've never been to Mallorca - any feedback, tips, places to stay?
Also, we are thinking of going 11 days - they are thinking 5 days Barcelona, 6 days on the beach? Is 5 days too much/not enough in Barcelona? Like I said, I want to get another person's opinion on Barcelona without influencing them too much.

Re: Mallora/Majorca and Barcelona?
I did not enjoy Barcelona. It could be because I drank too much absinthe. I just remember being there and walking down the side streets and seeing puke on the side. It was from everyone drinking too much absinthe, I think.
The only thing I enjoyed about Barcelona was the Miró museum.
I’ve never been to Mallorca, but I have had friends that have been. You have to make sure you get the right season. If not, then it may be rainy. There are also tons of German tourists there who like to save the beach chairs at 7AM with their towels.

I loved Barcelona. The architecture alone was a site to be seen. Park Gruel, Gothic Quarter - it was pretty rad. I don't know if I would spend 5 days there.

We were in Barcelona for 4 days and saw pretty much everything we wanted to see. We could have easily spent another day or two and would have found intersting things to do. We did take cabs everywhere so that saved time and we weren’t too exhausted at the end of the day. We returned to the hotel by around 5 pm so we could shower and have a nice dinner and take a stroll around the neighborhood.

This. I absolutely love Barcelona, but 5 days is a bit much.

Thanks for everyone's input. I think we're leaving towards 3-4 days in Barcelona. I suggested adding 2-3 days in Seville. We would then do 5 days in either Marbella or Mallorca.
The trip isn't till June, and I'm sure I'll have a million more questions until then.

Thanks for posting this! We are doing a cruise in June and one stop is Mallorca and other cities. This is a great thread.
We are doing 3 days in Barcelona, cruise that stops in Mallorca and then a week in Portugal.

Re: Mallora/Majorca and Barcelona?
We've been to Barcelona twice, and both times for 3 days. We did Gaudi Houses (Mila and Battle), Park Guell, Sagrada Familia, we went to FC Barcelona Museum and Stadium because we went with DS (a must for soccer fans), Ramblas (Boqueria). I loved it! I think 3/4 days is enough, but we also tried to take it easy and enjoy some time in the pool.
For Mallorca, we stopped there in 2 cruises. We did some caves in one stop, and a catamaran in the other one. It was really awesome. I don't know things in the city, though, but those were good plans with DS.
