Manipulating naps for my twins bday party
Ughhh! I know this is bad and I should have considered it before I booked the party.
Unfortunately the venue that we are having it in, it can ONLY start at 6 PM.
My twins take 2 naps. The first one can start anywhere from 11:15 and be until 1:30. The times are not firm, this is the window of time. Sometimes its 11:45 to 1 for example.
The second nap can start and end anywhere from 4:45 to 7:00. This nap is much shorter as a whole. The time it starts is based on how good the earlier nap was. Sometimes its 5:30 to 6:15. Sometimes its 6-7, etc you never know.
How can I manipulate the day so that they are somewhat well rested for their party? I don't want to skip the nap altogether or they will be complete beasts. Even if they get a half hour, its better than nothing.
Is there anything I can do or am I completely screwed?!!?

Re: Manipulating naps for my twins bday party
I would just stick to their regular routine even if they are still napping when the party starts.. I'd rather have them well rested where they can actually enjoy themselves, rather than 2 cranky babies and a cranky momma lol

Re: Manipulating naps for my twins bday party
Well, my Twins' party is from 1-5. They too take 2 naps a day but both in the morning/afternoon. I'm going to give them one nap but make it a little later in the morning and hope they sleep for a while. I'll wake them up get them dressed, head over to the party place to set up and feed them lunch before everyone gets there. HOPEFULLY they'll be ok without that second nap!!!

do they sleep in the car? if they do i would put them in for their am nap on the early side of normal and then put them in the car an hour or so before party and try to get a short nap out of them that way

They do. But I should have mentioned that the party location is around the corner from my house, so no driving necessary! Makes this even harder.

Can you try to do one nap that day? Push the 1st nap back an hour or so and hopefully they will sleep longer. With the excitement of the party i'm sure they'll be fine skipping the 2nd nap.

Won't they just fall asleep on the way to the venue? I wouldn't try to change the earlier nap. I really don't know your kids. But my kids always fall asleep in the car. I would leave a little early and let them sleep in the car. When my kids didn't they were always pretty good if it was a party. I have three year old twins who still love to nap.
