Marinara Sauce Recipe!
I made marinara sauce a few months ago and it turned out delicious! now that I want to make it again, I can't find the recipe anywhere.
does anybody have a great recipe that they can share with me? I need a nice thick sauce please.
and I can freeze the sauce if I make a lot, right?
TIA!

Re: Marinara Sauce Recipe!
Slice 8 cloves of garlic lengthwise. Heat large skillet over medium heat. Add two large swirls of olive oil. Saute garlic until just before about to turn color. Add a can of cento san marzano plum tomatoes. Salt the tomatoes and crush with the back of a wooden spoon. Add a handful of torn basil. Add a 1/2 cup of red wine. Cover and cook for 25 minutes. Sauce will reduce and thicken. Add another handful of torn basil the last 5 minutes of cooking.

Re: Marinara Sauce Recipe!
coat the bottom of your pan with olive oil and use 4-6 cloves of garlic.
cook the garlic make sure it doesnt burn. remove and set aside. take half an onion and saute it really well till its very soft . again remove from oil and set aside
use(small) contadina tomato paste for a big sause use 2 cans and sautee that in the oil for about 1-2 minutes ( stir continuosly)
then use 2 cans (large)of red pack tomato puree and mix in with the paste. you then need to thin it out with some water. you can use up to one can full of water do by eye.
then you can add a few drops of tobasco sause, wistershire sauce and soy sauce. ( not a lot just about 2-3 drops of each)
in a food processor take the garlic and onions in reserve and puree them and put them back in the sauce. you can also use salt and pepper to taste.
let cook for a good 2 hours.
to make it taste even better you can fry or bake some meatballs and put them in there to finish cooking and it will flavor the sauce even better. you can allso brown some chunks of meat and put them in the sauce aswell.
If you want a chunkier sauce you can used crushed tomatoes insteat of puree.

Re: Marinara Sauce Recipe!
1 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes 1 14.5 oz. can petite diced tomatoes 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce 1/2 cup olive oil (I use EVOO) 5 cloves of garlic (minced) 1/2 of small onion (minced) oregano, salt, pepper, sugar fresh basil In med. sauce pan, saute oil with onion and garlic until golden.
Add all the cans of tomatoes. Add oregano, salt, pepper and sugar--I don't measure these ingredients so I dunno how much I actually put in. You can adjust it according to taste. Add basil.
Cook on low heat for 35 minutes, stirring occasionally

This is similar to how I make it top.
