Re: Marine insurance claims
Do you know specifically why the claim is denying?
If it's for a lapse of coverage, you need to contact whomever is in charge of administering the insurance...
However, if it's denied for lack of medical necessity or something similar, you may be able to contact your Dr's office to see if they can re-word the notes and re-submit the claim on your behalf to the VA / Champus (not sure who you have).
Hard for me to offer anything else without actually knowing what the claim was for and the denial code.
Definitely do not pay before you try to fight it. Even if you are ultimately responsible for payment, often you can work out a payment plan, so keep that in mind as well.

Re: Marine insurance claims
It's for boat insurance. Our boat was at the dock & took on water - partially submerging the boat. The insurance company is denying the claim because they "think" it was caused by some kind of wear & tear which is an exclusion on the policy. They didn't do any investigation of the boat except looking at it in the water & they say that since they saw water coming in the shaft area, it must be that the shaft was worn out, etc. They said that this is usually the reason boats sink so they are denying. I told him that there could be other reasons - we had a lot of rain over the days before and the batteries may have shorted, or something, causing the bilge pumps to fail which would have pumped the water out, but he says that isn't what "usually" happens. After pushing the supervisor a little, today, he agreed to have the adjuster write up a report detailing how they came to their decision and will give me the pictures they have that they say shows the water pouring in from the shaft area. I just don't know where to go from here. They do not have an appeal process, I have to sue them he said. Anyone know anything about this or a lawyer we can talk to???? Thanks for all the responses - I appreciate any and all input!
