Married ladies....

When did you know he was the one? and how did you know that?

I'm just asking because lately there have been a lot of people around me getting divorced. Recently my bf friends who recently got married in May are getting an annulment.

Re: Married ladies....

Everything in my mind, body and soul showed me that I did not want to live without him. He was and is my best friend, so it was kind of just the natural next step.

Re: Married ladies....

I knew on our second date!! I told him I was going to marry him and he didn't believe me. 5 yrs later, he proposed, and we're going on 8 yrs of being together and our 1 yr wedding anniversary!!!! From the moment I laid eyes on my hubby, I knew he was the one!!! Talk about butterflies in the tummy, knee-knockin love at first sight!!!!! Chat Icon

Re: Married ladies....

I cant pinpoint it. I know at first it was NOT love, but he grew on me. Then I remember feeling like "he KNOWS me, he understands me, and he likes me for all of that" and I had never felt that before. That feeling of being with someone I never had to impress, or change for, and then I realized I felt the same about him. After a while longer, I couldnt imagine anyone being more perfect for me.

Re: Married ladies....

I also have to say that it wasn't love at first sight- in fact the only reason I went out with him in the first place was to get him to stop asking me out. After a while, I came to the realization that he was sort of like an extension of me. As the above poster said, he just knows me for me- there was no acting or putting on heirs. He just became a part of me without me knowing it and I realized that I couldn't be without him.

I could tell him anything and he still thought I was amazing! Chat Icon Plus, there were all these little synchronicities that, and to quote Sleepless in Seattle, when you put them together, they all added up and felt right.

Re: Married ladies....

It took a while for me to be sure too. I am a very cautious person by nature and never had that immediate head over heels feeling for anyone - I don't think it is my nature. I think it took about 10 months - I went away on a trip for 2 weeks. He met me there for the second week of the vacation. When I met him at the airport, I realized how much I had missed him in only a week and that was when I knew this was the guy I waited for.

I knew when he became the first person I wanted to tell all of my good news, or the first one I turned to when I was upset, and the last person I wanted to talk to before I went to bed at night. I knew when I realized he thinks I am beautiful and makes me feel that way about myself everyday - that he loves my body with all of its imperfections. I knew when I realized that he puts me ahead of every other person in his life and I knew when I realized I trust him more than anyone else I know Chat Icon

Re: Married ladies....

I oddly knew the night I met him. I know it sounds like a crock of sh-t to some people, but I really did know. AND I even told my aunt the next day that I thought he was the one. I'll never know why I thought that, but I did. About a week later, he told me he knew he was going to be with me forever.

Re: Married ladies....

I knew on the first date.. I had this feeling come over me during dinner (just a thought, I am going to marry him).
I told my friend as soon as I got home and at our wedding she told the story on our wedding video.. it was very sweet.

Re: Married ladies....

We worked so well together right from the start and we were both in denial because we had come out of bad relationships.
Needless to say after a few months we realized this was it and the rest is history.
I am still amazed at how well we get along and how easy this relationship is compared to any other's I was in. I now know this is how it should be.
