Married non-parents with nieces/nephews
How often do you go to events for the kids like concerts or games, without your spouse? Not because they're not available but because it's easier for just one of you to go because it's on a weeknight or some other reason? Or they just don't want to?
If you do find yourself doing things without them, does it bother you? Or does your family say anything about it?

Re: Married non-parents with nieces/nephews
We see our nieces separately if one of us has a conflict or if it's really difficult for one of us to go.
For example, DH works in the city and I can work from the city or home or our 110 office. When the nieces who live out of state visit my parents in Suffolk, I'm able to work on 110 to get to my parents' house before they go to sleep. DH *could* do it, but it's really an inconvenience for him.
I always feel obligated to spend as much time with the nieces when they're here (and I want to see them). I feel bad that DH is missing out, but I understand that it's a lot harder for him to jump through hoops, leave work early, and travel for 90 minutes just to get to see them for a few minutes before they go to sleep.

I go see my brother's kids all the time alone...i know DH doesn't want to hang out with them as much as I do and it doesn't bother me at all. I actually like the "alone" time with them. He will come for special events like plays or recitals though.

I go when I can. I go if I can make it.
