Re: Marriott in Aruba
I stayed at the Ocean Club, next to the regular hotel, and it was nice.
There is a game room and playgrounds across the Marriott properties (there is the Surf Club, Ocean Club and the hotel in a compound).
The only thing you can't use from the other properties is the pools.

Re: Marriott in Aruba
Hey
We stayed there in May 2005 (I was PG with S) and it was great. We had such a great time and there were sooo many kids. We always said we'd have to go back with S. They were building another building with an awesome looking pool when we were there so I'm sure that's done by now. If possible, try to get the breakfast included. Their buffet was great.

Re: Marriott in Aruba
We went there last summer. My boys were 6 and 18 months. We had the BEST time!! The pools were clean and the beach was amazing. We even took our older guy on a raft ride. I would go back there in a heartbeat!

Re: Marriott in Aruba
Thanks everyone! So glad it's good for kids. I hope my 2 1/2 year old will love it. We had to cancel our trip to Mexico, which had the best kiddie pool. So happy this one has a nice pool and beach!

We went to Marriott Surf Club in March, used our timeshare, and we brought our 17 month old at the time. He loooved it. The kiddie pool and the lazy river are so much fun. Plus there's a playground. You guys will love it.

How close are the hotels? Because if we're staying in the actual hotel, can we use the lazy river and playgrounds? Is it a far walk? The less walking with a 2 year old, the better!

Re: Marriott in Aruba
The hotels are all in a row - Hotel, Ocean Club, Surf Club.
You technically aren't supposed to use the lazy river at the Surf Club unless you are staying there - the place is huge so they have the pool area for guests of that resort only. If it isn't busy though - nobody really says anything. We were able to pool hop when we were there in December between the three resorts (but, we spent most of the time at the Ocean Club where we were staying since it was pretty empty).

I'm so jealous Meredith...we stayed there on our Honeymoon. It was gorgeous. Definately kid friendly. They have an awesome pool area and I do remember seeing children there.

Re: Marriott in Aruba
We stayed there in December (the Surf Club) with our two boys (5 and 2) and they are still talking about it. If you are going to try and use the lazy river I would suggest bringing your own raft though b/c the store has limited styles and the quality wasn't great (we ended up having to buy a second one b/c the first leaked right away). The beaches are beautiful. Make sure to take a trip down to Baby Beach--perfect for kids!
