Masonry/Brick work companies
Does anyone know if any of these companies take a payment plan?
I have some work to do this Spring/Summer finally and I would love to work out a plan so I don't have to write out a giant check.

I would just go with a 0% credit card offer. There are credit card BT offers out there that actually give you cash for signing up and the BT is free.
Citi lets you BT money directly to your checking account so you can even pay them cash.

that's a good idea. I actually have one 0% card just about paid and I can see about another transfer. It would be for a lot of money though. I've only consolidated 4 digits, not 5! I guess I can qualify for a large credit limit, I have before.

5 digits? No problem.
I have a chase card that currently has a 65k balance. I have that money sitting in my bank account earning 5.5% interest.
Anyways, if you have other Citi cards that you aren't using you can apply for a Citi card with a good BT offer. After you are approved and get your limit you can try to get a CSR to move (reallocate) credit lines from other Citi cards to the new card. Don't tell them you want to do it for the BT, just tell them you want to start using the new card and want a high limit for purchases. It may take a number of calls to different CSRs but once you get the right person (usually a supervisor) they will do the move for you.

Re: Masonry/Brick work companies
they send me offers everyday. I always have one from either Citi, Chase, Crapitol One (which I throw away), Discover..etc..
I'm a fan of the 0% cards..that may make the whole thing happen a lot sooner
What account is earning 5.5% now?

I locked in a ton of 6mo 5.5% CDs back in November when the rates were still good and the Fed started their rate cutting spree. I literally put every dime I had in savings into one of these accounts.
I had a feeling the interest rates would tank so I went long on a bunch of liquid holdings.
My strategy is paying off (literally). Only problem is these CDs are due to mature in two months so I am not sure what I will do after that.

I reallocated to bonds mostly, but now there are so many good buys out there I will go back to my original strategy and get back into equities. Thankfully, the market is better now and i didn't take too much of a hit. It's long term anyway.
I have a regular high yield account with Citi..the rate stinks. I didn't want to tie up the money in CDs, but hindsight is 20/20.

I don't mind locking up in CDs. I typically look for the best rates, even if they are only mom and pop banks.
I also look at the fine print when it comes to breaking the CD & fees. I have found that these fees vary greatly. I always keep some cash in very easily breakable CDs.
And worst case scenario if I ever need money now, that's what credit is for.
