Masters Plus
I got my masters in Elem. Ed. and my cert is only Ch. Ed. 1-6. Should I go back to school for another masters or are there many other ways to boost your credits. Basically I want a literacy degree but not for another 10s of thousands of dollars.

To be honest, I would go for another degree bc most districts require you to get at least 12-15 graduate credits beyond your masters anyway. I went for my literacy degree (in addition to my masters in el.. ed) and I am happy to only have to take 30 inservice credits as opposed to 60.

Literacy is a great degree to have as an elem certified teacher - they have a good program at Touro college for real cheap - worth checking it out

I am getting my additional certification in Literacy at Hofstra...expensive but worth it IMO...I am getting a lot out of it
