Match.com or Eharmony?
Which one is better?
I am trying to coax my beautiful, smart, funny, wonderful sister to join. She just cant seem to find anyone worthy of her in "real life" and I thought since shes shy, this may be a better way? I am afraid of weirdos though...LOL
I know people on here have met on sites like that..so I was wondering, is one better than the ever and if so, why? Thanks!

Re: Match.com or Eharmony?
Met my DH on Match.com but I heard from friends that its become a hook up joint- no one really serious about relationships but just wanting sex.
I have no experience with EHarmony other than my friend being directed to a mutal friend of ours that we both couldn't stand. We thought that was hilarious!

Re: Match.com or Eharmony?
Prior to meeting DH in 2004, I tried Match.com. I was living in the city, and I really felt like everyone I met from that site was just looking for sex.
Or just dating multiple people at the same time until something "better" came along.
I never did EHarmony because I wasn't patient enough to go through the whole application process/tests.

Re: Match.com or Eharmony?
I met DH on eharmony. But I found a lot of things about it annoying- for example, I didn't want to be matched with anyone younger (because I'd had no luck, just aggravation with younger guys) and I didn't want someone 10+ years older, but I couldn't change that feature. A lot of people I knew did eH and I was the only one I know of who had any luck.
My experiences with Match were similar to the PPs.

Re: Match.com or Eharmony?
I have heard good things about both. My mom met her boyfriend on match, I re-connected with DH on match, a cousin met his wife on e harmony.. All of them make you weed out the bad, the good..the UGLY

Re: Match.com or Eharmony?
I met DH on matchmaker, but actually tried all 3.
Match YOU decide who you want to meet & can weed through all the people's profiles.
I believe on eharmony THEY determine your matches based on the extensive profile questions you answer. You get fewer matches but supposedly better matched people.

Re: Match.com or Eharmony?
Match...met my ex husband and future husband on there. My two cousins did eharmony. One was engaged to a guy who bite her cat, that ended right then and there and the other one is a freak. MATCH.

Re: Match.com or Eharmony?
I met my current boyfriend on match. I know several people who have used Eharmony and didn't like it because it is a slow process and you can't search (they just send you matches).

My friends have had the most success in EHarmony. Two have resulted in marriage.

Re: Match.com or Eharmony?
my sister has been dating and is now living with a guy that she met on Match- but it was after about 20 disasterous dates- just to warn you/your sister, you have to stick with it- there are good people out there, sometimes you just have to dig through the crap to find them

Re: Match.com or Eharmony?
I met DH on match. I tried eHarmony and went out on a date with one guy but he was SO not for me. I think eHarmony is cr@p with all of those questions. Plus, you can block people from seeing your photo until they reach a certain point in the questions. As if their answers will makeup for a lack of physical attraction.
