Maternity/disability...
Ok- so my DR had put me on pelvic rest making me unable to work in a classroom...Since Ive been working in the office part time anyway... I just figured that I would now go in there full time...
Today my boss sits with me and says (as she is going over my DR's note) "this isnt gonna work...I have to cut your hours done to part time..."
Ummm no... am I better off going for disabiltiy... is she even allowed to penalize me, because of a medical condition...???
Im just real confused...dont know what I should do... (cutting my hours done to part time will probably be exactly what Id make in disabiltiy...)
And yes... my DR and I did discuss disability if my job did not comply with her instructions...
Please help!

No way! She cannot penalize you, she can on fact get in trouble by labor laws. You have the option to start collecting diability ow, it is just optoing for it earlier than if you waited til after the baby was born. Is there an HR dept at your job, if not call the dept of soc security.

This is the part Im unsure of... If the only full time job she has avaialable (so she says) involves lifting...and I cant do that..then what happens????
I mean she cant just make up a position...
She is offering me a job...just part time...
*this is what she'll say her reasoning behind all this is
