Maternity Dresses
Hi Ladies,
Hope you can help me. I have three weddings in the last 10 weeks of my pregnancy Anyway, I have a dress my cousin gave me but I am not crazy about it....but I can't afford the crazy amount maternity dresses are going for. Any of you go through this and if so where did you get a dress from?? Maybe a stretch one will work???
Also, I think high heels will be out by then...would flip flops be so horrible????
I am so tired of spending anymore money on maternity clothes....

Re: Maternity Dresses
Try Oldnavy.com and Gap.com I think with 10 weeks to go you should wear whatever you are comfortable in and that fits! But I might do a dressy shoe or sandal with no heel - again only if it fits comfortable.

Re: Maternity Dresses
I found an affordable dress at motherhood in Macy's. They don't have a huge selection but you can also check online at www.motherhood.com

Re: Maternity Dresses
I am going to a wedding tomorrow actually, and bought this dress from the motherhood website.. it's actually a little big on me in the belly area (I'm 24 weeks) but otherwise it's kind of cute, and not TOO much $$

Re: Maternity Dresses
Oh and I meant to add - I am wearing high heels tomorow with that dress, but my feet are sooo swollen these days I am wishing I'd opted for some cute low flat sandals
SO by 10 weeks before your due date, I'd say ANYTHING goes!! Flip Flops sound great right about now!!

Re: Maternity Dresses
I saw quite a few cute dresses in Motherhood yesterday that can be dressed up for a wedding- and none of their stuff is too expensive.

Re: Maternity Dresses
I definitely saw several dresses that would be perfect for weddings & very affordable at Motherhood. In fact, they were so cute, I wish I had somewhere to wear them!!

Re: Maternity Dresses
I had a few weddings to go to when I was 6 months pg, and I wore a black stretchy fabric dress from old navy and flip flops. I got crystally ones because I was wearing flip flops exclusively from 4 - 5 months pregnant since I was so swollen.

Re: Maternity Dresses
def try motherhood I just got a dress there in the "as is" rack for 20 bucks and I love it - its black, which has always been my color of choice....it started out at 60 dollars but was missign a button from the back so they clearanced it (I have a million buttons or could leave the keyhole open, I haven't decided!) and will be wearing it to a wedding in aug!
there are two motherhood outlets in ny (if that where you live!) on the island - one in the source mall and one in riverhead...there's also plenty of motherhood stores! it can be hit or miss so start looking ahead if you can!

Re: Maternity Dresses
I would definitely wear flip flops at that point - your feet will be swollen and people will understand! They have cute dressy ones now
I wouldn't buy anything until the last minute - but the store at the source had affordable dresses.
What if you bought accessories to dress up your cousin's dress?

Re: Maternity Dresses
Old navy had a cute dress that I got. It was only I think $25 or something and looks nice when I put it on.
Also, can you get away with buying one dress for maybe $80, and wearing it to all of the weddings? If so, then Mimi Maternity had some really cute ones. Or, Motherhood had some cute ones for about $40. They had more of a selection in the store than online.
